I haven’t had any of those yet. I’ve been looking for a job for about eight months, and everything has been formal interviews. I wouldn’t mind something more laid-back, but not if they don’t have a clear job description.

I hope your job search clears up soon! Maybe it'll be on a coffee interview 😜
I've started treating every one of these like a real interview regardless of what they call it. Dress up, prep answers, bring questions. If it actually is casual, great, you look polished. If it's secretly an interview, you're ready.

That's a good idea it's always good to be prepared! And if you're overdressed atleast you've put the effort in!

I’ve never had those of have heard of those. It seems to me that unless it’s an actual structured interview, I’m curious to know what they actually get out having an informal conversation 🤔 . I don’t think it’s to get over on ppl, they’d still have to provide an actual job description at some point

I think it's just an inefficient interview more going towards personality and instincts than the formal latter.
Ive found that you are usually spot on. The job is usually also very informal when it comes to employee treatment and the expectations are corporate. Just my experience.

That sounds about right and they're probably complaining how it's not what they are wanting 😂

Sometimes informal chats are legitimate relationship building, but often they signal lack of structure. If there is no clear scope, compensation discussion, or timeline, that is a warning sign. A serious opportunity should eventually turn into a defined role with expectations in writing.

Yeah it definitely needs to be a structured informal chat... I understand about relationship building but concerned more are a waste of time than anything

I’ve noticed that too. Sometimes they lead somewhere, but often it’s a sign the role isn’t fully thought out. Treat it as a chance to ask questions and gauge clarity before getting too invested.
