There’s one guy on our team who does just enough to not get fired. He shows up on time, does his sidework, but that’s where it ends...never helps when we’re slammed, never offers to run food, never says yes to a pickup shift. He’s not technically doing anything wrong, but we’re all picking up the slack. It’s starting to wear on morale. Would you call it out or just let it go?

I have been a phlebotomist for the last three and a half years with quest. I have over 20 years of experience. And have been trying to transfer to a different state. I believe that I am being blocked from my transfer even though my manager approves it on paper. Is there any way I can find this out. In Iowa, there is no Overtime pay mandate, the overtime pay is at the discretion of the business. I received 58.6 hours of base pay for the week.

If the company makes less than $1 million per year or does not engage in intercontinental sales, the company is not required to pay the overtime rate of time and a half, just your base rate.
