I have a promising interview at a relatively large law firm in my area (+100 attorneys) next week. The position is for a transactional role in their real estate practice group, and they are seeking someone with at least 2 YOE. I have a bit over 7 YOE with a strong real estate/commercial lit. background. Over the past two years in my current position, I've been doing a lot more transactional work. The split is around 50% transactional and 50% lit.

I answered few and quite I was not sure of answers. She gave feedback like my communication and confidence level is good and project wise I'm having good knowledge and coming to concept wise it's not upto the mark for experience. What do we think is going to happen with student loan deferral? Any recent new grads thinking they’re going to pay back any time soon? Some argue Biden is going to keep pushing interest pause til next election then forgive 10k as a strategy to help get re-elected? I only have 15k to pay and can pay it anytime, but no incentive to when that money can be earning more elsewhere in the meantime, thoughts on what is really going to happen?

I feel like I've been lowballed, can someone explain the below breakdown please?

Quarterly quota (per quarter): 107k
Quarterly bonus (per annum): 23k
130% Annual bonus = 11.5k
"23% commission on quota minus base": 37k (don't understand this)
"Proposed 23% commission on 150% quota minus base": 86.5k
Sales commission threshold per month: 22k

That base salary is lower than my previous base by a significant amount by 32.7%
