This law firm profession is so sick that I actually think about fraudulent billing. First, I do not know how. Second, it’s stealing, unethical and immoral. Third, it’s just not me. But it kills me to know folks are pulling in 7 figures and haven’t written a report letter or any other real hands on deck legal work in 20 years.

What is a reasonable pay increase + bonus? This will be my first pay increase. I make 70k and I will be starting my second year at big law (immigration). I had 2 years of prior experience before joining the firm. My manager rated me highest in all areas and mentioned she recommended me for promotion but it may not happen until next cycle since there are limited number of promotions to give. Does anyone feel like it’s difficult to gain acceptance and find allies when you’re a POC? Okay so I’m a newly licensed attorney in a very conservative part of TX. I just got my first job offer and I was worried at first thinking that I was in “Trump” territory, but I tested the waters in my interview and spoke about police injustices and how prosecutor’s job is not only to protect victims, but also defendants from police injustices.
