Hello RSM coworkers! I am thrilled to be moving to RSM into a Scheduler roll. I just found out yesterday and want to be as prepared as possible in the next steps.
So here are my questions.
How long does the background study take? I'm guessing admin staff have a study that is faster and less complicated than someone in Tax ect.
When training at home what did you need that wasn't supplied by RSM? My home office is well stocked but I want to be as prepared as possible.
Thanks in advance!

I have but then I remember I left for a reason and it’s their business what they decide to do with my position. Helps me stay focused.
Coach
No, it doesn’t matter because you’ve moved on. They could replace your role tomorrow or never back fill it, what difference would it make to spend energy on this when you have a new opportunity ahead of you to pour your energy into.
I still keep in touch with my former colleagues at my previous place so I’m aware of all the happenings that occurred after I left. The work I did single-handedly was divvy’d out to a whole team of people to support it. So yeah I know the value I brought to the table. And they learned the hard way too since they refused to promote me or pay me more. Sucks for them. 😆
Not really, I’m irreplaceable in all reality. Which has been evidenced by the number of times former leaders peep my LI and the fact no one was ever put in my role.
It may be because I never had to wonder…former colleagues were more than happy to fill me in on the dish of the hot mess express my projects became after my departure.
The position I left was entry level engineering, and they essentially could take anyone that had decent social graces and any sort of design background in college within engineering. I know they probably filled my position instantly. But with the progress I’ve made and increased benefits/pay, it doesn’t really bother me. I don’t take it personally from management either, it’s simply the company’s restriction for that role.
I loved my previous team an insane amount, I was super emotional about my decision leave and there was a lot of “drama” on the way out…. They had announced my replacement an entire week before my last day. I was still on the distribution list. 🤷🏻♀️
My job was posted weeks before I left, so plenty of colleagues reached out asking me about my departure. I worked there for 10 years, so I made connections on multiple levels... many were confused.
I was actually trained by the person leaving. Moving on isn't always a negative thing.
I find myself thinking about it from time to time after 2 months of leaving. But then I remember I left for a reason and replacing me isn’t against me it’s to make things the easiest for my old boss/partner. I deserve to feel and be my best self and some positions cannot provide the environment I need to not only survive but thrive. You got this!
