Ignore B1. BAH would meet that definition and BAH is a mess.
Are you saying Accenture is telling you they will hire you and then promote you within a year? That's a red flag- nobody really does that. Do you have a passion for workday?
Any consulting firm outside of big 4 is an upgrade
They're saying up for promotion at KPMG
100% Accenture OP. Great company, great people
I am aligned to ACN's Workday practice, and it is growing incredibly fast. Some of our biggest clients are implementing it, particularly around Finance and HCM applications.
It's probably the best place in the company right now. Good salary, extra bonuses, special perks. Agree with A1, though. Definitely make sure you get into Client & Market rather than CD&O.
See if you'll come in on the C&M or CDO track
C&M is their true consulting. Travel, up or out model, etc. CD&O tends to be more local, lower pay, but better job security.
@BA1 - can you explain why? Never worked outside of Big4 so I don't have the background.
@K1 - I have absolutely zero details at this point, call is scheduled for Tuesday morning. I agree that is sketchy and wouldn't bite at that. I'm target for promotion next cycle at KPMG. I have a passion for consulting, Workday happened to be my in and I'm having success right now. My question really was just around KPMG vs Accenture generally speaking in this service line.
Gotcha. I've not heard much of what we are doing in workday so not a great advisor there. But Accenture typically has armies of people dedicated to these platforms so I have to believe they'd be a good home too. Feel it out in the interview.
@A1 - could you please explain the two and their differences?
@A2, thank you for the info! Is ACNs Workday practice spread out across the country or are they local to say Chicago?
Update: I had the call with the recruiter. It's to join the Workday/DayNine team as an Advanced Comp consultant (level and salary tbd). I don't have to relocate but this role is in CD&O. Does this mean I should walk away? Is there a was to pivot the offer to be in C&M?
Depends on if you want to travel and move up more quickly. Some people like the job security of CD&O and there is definitely less expectations for people in that group. Having said that, there's definitely an overlap in the type of work done. Ive seen a lot of CD&O people do C&M work and vice versa. Highly unlikely they'll switch the offer to C&M.
@SA1 - there are Workday roles that fall within C&M, correct? From what I have found out, this role is part of the Accenture/DayNine team.
Dunno, but there would probably need to be an MD within C&M willing to take on your cost
Update: moved to the final round of interviews with ACN. Was able to deflect initial compensation requirements questions but they are being asked again. 2yr associate at KPMG - certified in Workday HCM, Comp, Advanced Comp, and Recruiting. Role is Advanced Compensation consultant (unclear on level yet). Denver, CO. Is there a range I should be looking at?
