Bain & Company My 13 YO is taking Career and Tech. She is dead set on diving for Michigan. What are her chances of getting hired from MBB with a degree from UM? Or would she need her MBA first? Is a Michigan degree good enough to get you into a top MBA program?

Bain & Company Atlanta people! I’m in the process of applying for MBA programs and wanted to ask what recruiting is like for MBB from Emorys program? Is there a reasonable shot at getting into the Atlanta office from Emory, or are those openings primarily filled by other schools (Duke, UVA, etc.)

What will the project dynamics be on a project staffed with 3mdps, a PL, and myself, a summer UG intern? Just got staffed and will be hearing more on Monday from the team, but it came across as an interesting staffing composition.
Have the feeling I'll be making quite a few slides as the only junior. Anyone staffed on a similar case composition?

There’s not politics per se in the sense that you’re not competing with your peers for scarce spots (which is what generates most corporate politics), but of course people with strong relationships with their case leaders and partners tend to do better over time. Try to build a relationship with your boss (hard given the short engagement timeline sometimes) that goes beyond purely work, and do the same with your teammates. Invest in getting to know people you want to work with and stay in touch with them. Ultimately though it’s all about doing good work at the junior level - just that being well liked helps on the edges.
Build a good relationship with your CDA because they’re the only ones that don’t have a personal agenda and so can provide unbiased advice.

Your CDC advisor is a stakeholder to be managed, not a mentor or sponsor. You should find mentors and sponsors elsewhere and make sure you manage your advisor and their perception of you since it will impact your performance on the margin (it won’t turn someone bad into a star or vice versa)
Very little politics at that level. Just do a good job!
