The hardest part for me is walking in the door each night at 11pm and walking out again at 5am.
On a positive note I have choreographed a good 2 hour calisthenics routine for the train. Other passengers often join in.
And sometimes my children join me for the half journey before switching stations and returning to Greenwich. It’s nice to see them, although their dedication to Train-robics could use some work!

Lol pros to commuting to Greenwich every day from NYC? 😂😂
Why would you do that? Greenwich has a lower CoL and cheaper housing market. If you need to commute to Greenwich, I'd just move there
Pro
There's no way housing is cheaper in Greenwich than NYC... every option in Greenwich is expensive, but there are cheap options in the city.
Pro
That’s a reverse commute. Suck it up and move to Stamford or Norwalk.

My dad did it a for a few years from the Upper East Side, which is about the best place to try it from and it still sucked. It got old and he and my mom ended up leaving the city and moving to Stamford. His commute is now like 8 minutes if he gets unlucky and hits all the lights.

A long train ride to be alone with your thoughts
As a recovering addict - Hearing the cracks of the beer cans in the paper bag on the way back in my seat

I remember when Metro North had the bar car. You’d just go there, get a drink, and either drink it in the bar car or take it anywhere in the train, sit next to someone else, and drink it there.
You’d have the loud sales guys some days, the depressed lawyers, the corporate women, everyone had a drink. Last call was the NY/CT state line.
I miss the bar car.

Con: long commute
Pro: you have plenty of time to search for housing in Connecticut on your commute.

I’m not sure why people say it’s a long commute, it’s a 45-50 min ride with express train. It takes me the same time to get to BK. 1 hour flies by, I get lost in my thoughts, or open my laptop/phone.
However- Only you can decide if it’s worth commuting 2 hrs a day daily and being out of the city. Do you have an internship? Is it temporary? If this is long term, Stamford is a great place to live and near Greenwich. Apartment costs are nearly same as NYC.
