I’m confused why people are hating… They *were* overqualified (according to OP) so how is this them having a big head?
Not realizing beforehand is a separate issue, but let’s be real, job postings aren’t actually that representative a lot of the time
Overqualified, yet can't properly comprehend a job posting. If a recruiter was involved then double wow.
Yeah I’ve definitely run into people at BCG who have huge heads. One person who exited to major retailer told me more is expected of her on her team than her colleagues because she came from BCG and her colleagues came from Accenture, Deloitte, etc.
I’m like, you literally all have the same function and role, how you gonna put yourself ahead of people if you got the same title…
They have to justify the pain and extra hours along the way because they’ve now ended up in the same spot
When you realize what you're doing mid action. Putting your phone in the fridge instead of the milk, applying to OP's company.... You know, little things.
I am not in BCG but in a tier 2 consulting but sometimes I feel like either the title of tier 1 or role of tier 3 is under qualified for me so i backed out couple of times!
T2 refers to like ow, Kearney, Lek, Parthenon, s&. T1 is mbb
Feel like I should caveat, I’m not mad at the candidate I found it funny and I’m glad they did it earlier! I was so confused why they applied when they already make 2x the comp we offer
I am guessing he either didn't read the job posting thoroughly, or more likely he is on a PIP or otherwise on the chopping block, and had wishful thinking that this role would prove a soft landing while he continued to look for a long-term fit.
Can I ask the precise wording/language s/he used to withdraw? Curious
