Try switching industries schools, hospitals, nursing homes, etc. Anything with a kitchen the pay maybe lower but the odds are a lot better. Restaurants are more interested in lower wage employees who they can manipulate not seasoned veterans. It's easy to have them multitask with a title not the money. They will be so screwed when they wake up and walk out.

There's a lot of truth to that. Institutional kitchens, like hospitals, tend to retain employees for the long term. Restaurants are always somewhat chaotic and dealing with one crisis or another. You might make more money, but there's always the chance that things will blow up.

Does fidelity revise offer letter without the counter offer or does they take the offer back?

I have a direct report who is smart, passionate about her job and can be really innovative. However she carries this enormous weight of responsibility, for needing to do everything, do it right, make sure it's perfect, not trusting colleagues to help. It creates dread and panic and overwhelming workload and a terrible attitude for her and I am speaking with her this week to start to shift her mindset. Any tips in navigating how to let go of this heavy idea of "responsibility"?

Found a random engagement ring.

Hi all, so I found a platinum ring (which I assumed it's an engagement ring as it has dates and initials engraved on top.) And a Divvy tag (I have no idea what it was until I googled it. Apparently it's a bike sharing service in Chicago) in a briefcase I ordered online. I was thinking of returning the item back to the store but that wouldn't help the person who lost the ring.
