Trying to think of a gift to get my 2 staff for the holidays. Nothing crazy just want to boost morale. Any ideas? Something you received in the past that you enjoyed? Thanks in advance!

Wine/beer/liquor would be easy and can have a personal touch if you know what kind of stuff they like already

Wow some of these responses aren’t so uplifting. If I got a gift from anybody I work with I’d be appreciative and happy they thought enough of me to do so. I know I enjoy work more when I know the person I work with genuinely appreciates me. Maybe I am just lucky and have a great group I get to work with. Happy holidays y’all. I think if you know what they like outside of work, a gift geared toward that would be great and I would hope, appreciated.

Last year my boss(male) gave me the book “how to be successful without hurting a mans feelings.” It’s a great book and one of my favorite gifts I’ve ever received. It also made me appreciate him more because I felt like he really was a champion for women being successful in business.

Last Christmas a partner sent us a really nice refrigerated bag that contained cheeses, summer sausage, beer, wine, chocolates, nuts. I thought it was really thoughtful. I’m not sure how much she spent on it but the bag was pretty hefty and I was grateful for it.

What level are you? I’d find it weird if my partner gave me a $20 Starbucks gift card or a Yeti.
If you’ve got cash to dish out but don’t want it to be cash, maybe some credit to use at the firm brand store?

RAC award is good…that way they can get what they want. Unless, are you a Senior? Can’t remember if they have budget.

Also, I’m a team leader and last year randomly sent my team each a yummy smelling candle set…it wasn’t for a Christmas. Just a random gift saying something like “some days feel hard and dark right now. I hope these brighten your day a little.” Or something to that effect (it was mid-pandemic/wfh adjustment times).

5+ years of full-time job as developer and still waiting to reverse a LinkedList at work.

Since there is a heavy impetus on solving Tree, LinkedList, and Graph problems for tech interviews, it can naturally make freshers believe that these concepts will be used in day-to-day life at work. In reality, most of these DSA concepts are already implemented in some libraries our code uses and we rarely have to code such Algorithms by hand.

Hi, been stuck in the contract analysis/review cycle. I have asked a few recruiters how to make a lateral move into in-house. They told me to focus on contract management, which I have been doing for the past year. Now that I have, are there any sites besides “jobscan” that I can use to make sure my resume fits the job descriptions? Does anybody know any recruiters that could help me, as well?

How do you create the visual direction of a print campaign for example? Is it generally just about creating a mood board that sets the look and feel? Should it be specific (as in drawing or illustrating) with the pose and the framing?

Cause my thinking is more of the former where you give the photographer their own take of the idea. Curious to know how you do it.
