I got my first job as a copywriter when i was 33, after years as a graphic designer. That was 10 years ago and I’ve done pretty well since then. Produced work, won some awards, got promoted up the chain, and made ACD last year. People care more about the work you do and how nice you are to work with than how old you are, in my experience, anyway.
This is one of the best transformations I’ve seen.

Graduated from at school at 31. I'm 34 now. Haven't done anything special I'm here.
If by success you mean making twice as much as I was 5 years ago. Yes I have.
Worked in finance, went to ad school at night and got my first copywriting job at 33. So it can be done.
Got my first official CW job at 31. I feel that my “school of life” maturity and self awareness make me great with clients. I have no regrets.
