Congrats OP!
Congrats OP! 🍾 can you share some details for the rest of us? YOE? MBA? B4? Any info appreciated
Thanks! 10 YOE, no MBA, worked in tech consulting at B4. Wasn’t actually looking to leave consulting but the offer and work I’ll be doing was too good to pass up.
This is so cool! What industry were you in as a tech consultant and how did you end up in apparel?
I was in healthcare before. Ended up in apparel because they need someone who can manage a team of product managers to deliver new enterprise-wide capabilities. So didn’t really care about the lack of apparel background, instead wanted someone who can work with cross-functional teams and provide results. It’s just a testament to the fact that, as consultants, we develop skill sets that are highly applicable to almost any industry and are easily translatable.
Thank you for all the details. It's highly appreciated, OP. Congratulations!
What was your old comp?
“Per my last email…”
How many years of experience do you have may I ask? Any mba?
Well done 🔥🔥
What is the question? Or is it a flex?
Neither. It’s to inform others of exit ops that are out there and what type of comp can be expected.
TC jump doesn’t seem worth it but that sign on bonus is great. Is 200k TC assuming 15% bonus?
There’s also an RSU package I’m waiting to hear back on but it will be small, so didn’t really call it out. Plus, was just promoted this year and salary prior to that promotion was $155k, so actually pretty sizable jump. And I’m really excited about the work I’ll be doing as it’s highly visible within the organization and will have direct access to leadership.
What industry are you moving to? Congrats on the jump.
Congrats 🎊
Did you negotiate TC and did you had to disclose your current TC? TIA!
It was a pretty easy process. I had an idea of what to expect salary wise and we were able to settle on $200k. I didn’t have to for all disclose my current comp but just told them that I needed to make it worth my while from a salary perspective and told them I would do it for $200k and the signing bonus.
Did the opportunity find you?
Yeah, through networking. Met the VP of the group and he told me about needs that he had and how they were building out a team and then asked if I’d be interested. Haven’t actually applied for the role yet but have gotten and accepted the offer.
