Hello Gang, I’m on the business side for Walmart right now. Walmart Global Tech recently offered me a role to move to the San Bruno office, but I’d be taking a demotion from L6 to E5. YOE: 8, COMP(200k base, 25% bonus, 100k RSU). Is this competitive in the bay? I have Doordash and Instacart in the pipeline, but no final offers yet.

Could anyone kindly tell me about the Investment Management and Private Equity Audit Group at Deloitte? 1. Work Life Balance (Is it worst than the ordinary Big 4 WLB?) 2. Is it an entirely different audit from commercial/retail audits (think account balances etc.) 3. Difficult to learn how to audit clients in this industry without prior experience in the industry?(been doing commercial audits for 3 years) 4. Are there relatively good exit opportunities for this audit group? Deloitte PwC EY

Used to be the same as you. Tried to prepare as much as I can by reviewing responses, going to mock interviews, etc.
You know what I did that helped me most? Just go to bed early and don’t fret over it, take deep breaths as you drive to their office, and just relax the best you can. Realize that they’re people too and you’re trying to see if you’re a fit with them as they are with you, that’s all. There are no right or wrong answers to questions. Bring a notepad and write short bulletpoints on it if you need to to remind you of responses. Most of the jobs I interview for now, I either get an offer or at least progress through the very end of the interviewing process. That’s from a kid who used to have a swamp back during mock interviews in college.
Reading your response here and below, I think you should try to see yourself in a better angle. Find ways to build more self-confidence and stop doubting your own abilities. You are your best advocate. You can do it. You are enough.
Being an introvert is fine, most people in accounting are. But you can’t just be an introvert- otherwise people will eat you alive. You need to pair that introvert-ness with a good dose of self confidence. Negative feedback is not the end of the world. Everyone gets it. Ask how you can rectify the wrong and next time you do the task, apply what you were told. If you have an issue communicating verbally, use email and instant message more frequently. Instead of befriending everyone in your office, try to find two or three people and build your own circle and ask them your questions. The worst thing to do in accounting is never asking questions and constantly turning bad work. I know it sucks but you need to find confidence to ask questions. It’s part of your boss’ job to guide you on how to do things.
In another note, have you tried applying at not-for-profit companies? That industry is typically much more relaxed and less cutthroat than others and the work is pretty easy and they have a much better work life balance (saw you said you just had a kid). I also found the majority of them have an older accounting staff in case you find communicating with younger peers daunting. Banking and financial services (which I am in) is definitely on of the most cutthroat and stressful industry out there.
It might help you to do some kind of community service or join a club where you’re interacting with people you don’t know on the regular. The more you do something, the less your nervous system will freak out at it.
Unfortunately I am unable to do this as I have a new born. Appreciate the advice.

I’m serious… if you’re freezing up because of nerves, which based on your Q that sounds like the culprit, this will help you not have a bodily reaction when you’re put in a stressful, anxiety-inducing situation like an interview. My brain and speech also freezes up when I’m anxious, but after taking this your heart rate won’t be going a thousand miles a minute and you’ll be able to form your thoughts better as a result. Minimal side effects if any
