It’s probably easier to hire for experience. That can be verified online. They have to put more work into the process to verify skills.

Very true. This is why, I am doing it all the time on LinkedIn and YouTube. You need to showcase your skills a lot online to get more opportunities sent your way these days. The game, has changed.
Many seem to want that 110% criteria fit.

Doing that will make the process longer for them and if you need to fill the role in a timely manner, they will not do that. Sadly, it’s a buyers market right now and companies has a lot of options to pick from these days.

It takes alot of money to hire someone and with the economy being bad, companies don’t want to risk it and go with what they know. This is why, I only look for roles that I am a fit for so that the company can rest easy on that end.
