Anyone ever have experience negotiating a new offer to include unvested 401k match and stock grants from your current employer? I have an opportunity to leave consulting and go to industry in a 100% WFH role (this is what I’m looking for). Problem is, it’s a contract to hire position. My hourly rate as the contractor would be about $40k more per year, but no PTO and the health, dental, and vision would be through TEKsystems (the recruiter). I’m tempted to chase the money but somewhat concerned about being a contractor. Anyone have any experience with this?

My gf and me call each other everytime we have free time. However lately she seems disinterested in phone time. And I told her this is like living together from a distance, because I put her on the house speakers. What can I do to keep her engaged?

Do you get the feeling that there is a higher image promotion of women/minority people in Tech?I have seen way to many pictures from major tech companies that promote far more women/minorities than white males in their marketing materials.Wouldn't be better if we hired the best people no matter what the race/gender is?I know some companies are not publishing any gender/race stats but you cant't really demand a 50/50 ratio.Also there is no coincidence that most execs is some companies are British. So this goes both ways.

Have you talked about your wedding with coworkers? I made the mistake of saying I had to leave work a little early one day because I was going to do a tasting at my venue. That starts a debate on why one shouldn’t get married, how much wedding costs & what a waste it is, dresses are stupid because you only wear them once, etc. I haven’t talked about my wedding much, but I didn’t appreciate this. I ignored the negative comments and we moved the conversation along. Not talking about that anymore!

A creative team I started working with recently has decided to ignore my every comment. They take feedback from anyone else but me, and whenever I push them to make said changes, they just pick fights and make snarky comments. Anyone have any idea why this might be?
