Heard good things, just avoid the FTL office if you’re corporate.
A1 can you provide context?
some groups are harder than others. but that’s par for the course at most firms. Otherwise it’s not bad, associate camaraderie is good, people are generally friendly and helpful
I've heard bad things from associates and partners that were in that office. They said the associates were hostile, but yes, agree with the above. It is imparative to your career, mental health and safety that you AVOID FORT LAUDERDALE. If you're in CapM, do NOT do it. You won't escape the FTL partners.
I'd ask to meet with associates, reach out to people currently in that group and search GT on the bowls and believe what people are telling you. I didn't trust my gut and it almost ruined my career. It's so notorious that partners and recruiters ask me for stories when they see GT on my resume. Everyone knows there's crazy tea to be had.
Yea, some people did that when I was there. I'm just abundantly cautious with them because I've heard horror stories from Miami, Phoenix, New York and Chicago... and I know first hand that no matter how bad it gets, management won't step in or they will with just straight lip service.
In fact, the firm just went on a big apology tour telling recruiters that they're "aware of their reputation and they're working on it," but they told us that yeeaarss ago and I know people who are still there and management is well aware that it's still going on and not making real changes.
Thoughts on Miami office and funds group?
