Thoughts on a Omega De Ville Prestige as a first luxury watch? Would be ~$7.5K USD at retail. Some friends have said great things about Omega as a starter, whereas others say it’s not worth it over a Rolex Oyster Perpetual (which would be similar in cost).
I personally love how clean the design is, the use of gold, and the thinner band as it links the watch … find the Rolex band design to be too chunky.

No, find another AD. Vanilla DJ’s should be little or no wait these days. Even a sub shouldn’t take more than a few months.
Downtown Chicago Rolex AD is like this - avoid.
The dude smirked at me when I asked about availability 🤢🤢🖕
Are you serious :/ that’s frustrating.
Who knows how this system works. Maybe dude didn’t like my clothes or my complexion.

I’ll never understand why people put up with this kind of treatment from a brand
It’s tough. They make great watches and the bracelets are some of the best imo in the 7-10k price range

If someone doesn’t want to sell you something, listen to them
DJs are very easy to obtain at ADs. They’re just BSing you

It was normal in 2021…
Nowadays, not so much. I also recommend finding another AD.
Hmmm I had the same issue. Took me about 8 months to get a blue dial jubilee fluted bezel. They did offer me a couple other different datejusts but I was set on that specific setting
They’re full of sh*t and trying to grasp at the demand of 2 yrs ago. You can get a date just easily at most. Just walk in and be friendly, let them know what you’re interested in and be patient. But 1 year?? No way
I got it! But it took about 8 months and three ADs
I can't speak to a DJ but my dad is in Virginia and has been waiting 1 year so far for a stainless submariner with date.
I got after 3.5 months wait
