What kind of system do you use?

I'm developing this PC position at work (they've never had one) and I am forced to use the current ticketing system in place. The plan is to create tickets specific to tasks. I want to use a numbering system for cross referencing and basically visual organization. My Ops mgr isn't entirely on board and wants to know why we have to use a setup that works for me while those parts aren't necessarily for everyone.

Not sure how else to build something from scratch.

Use Jira. It works perfectly for that purpose.

Azure DevOps works well for ticketing, team boards, etc. and offers graphical reports and other types, queries, and more.

Smartsheet has PM abilities and creates dashboards out of provided data as well as being a great app for others in the org. When we implemented it at an old job it wasn't very pricey either. I would definitely recommend it as something to look into if the higher ups are touchy about setting up something new.

Ok, using excel is not a primary function for my role (this will be very obvious shortly...) So please be kind! On my sheet, in the first and third columns, I have lists of reference numbers. In the second column I have a client name. I already identified the duplicates in the first and third columns using conditional formatting. What I need to find now is column 2 value, whenever value in column 3 is identified as duplicate. Problem is, I have over 120k rows of data so I can't filter! Help!

I went through two rounds of interviews for

should I try for? I was really hoping to get
around the 36-40 but now I feel like they

average for this position is upper 70s-90k.

Advice needed. I’m leaving an incredibly toxic work environment (admin, students, parents, etc) for my dream job. I already resigned, but my students don’t know yet. I knew if I told them, their behavior would be even worse. How would you explain to the kids you’re leaving? I don’t want my P to know I’ve been hired elsewhere, so I don’t want to tell them I have a new position, but I also don’t want them to think they ran me off (or that I got fired, lol). I’m leaving next week.

My company is adopting Scrum and hiring a bunch of agile coaches to assist with sprints. We got assigned our agile coach that'll be starting soon.

I read a description of what this role is supposed to be for and it sounds like they'll be leading Scrum ceremonies. So they run the planning meeting, the retrospective and daily stand ups. Up to now, I've been doing those and it's taken a total of like 2 hours a week of my time.

What on earth do agile coaches do with the other 95% of their time?

Been passed over for promotion twice (had support from multiple partners both times). Received the top performance rating every year since joining the firm (6 years), which I’ve heard is rare. When passed over, the partners say there were others who have been waiting longer (not necessarily with the highest ratings) and that I should “keep doing what I’m doing” and basically wait my turn.
