So negotiated for a higher TC at amazon. The original offer was for TC 190k and I asked for TC 230k-240k based on the salaries reported on levels.fyi. Recruiter got back to me to say that it’s the best they can do, anything else that I can do to push? Or should i just walk away? Thank you!

Happy impact day fellow Deloittians!
All the benefits you just named comes out to like $1500 after tax. Not very important in the grand scheme of things. Need to know more about the position but 100K in NYC for 3 years of experience is definitely not “unheard of”
Month end close.. it’s like a mini busy season every month. You are not allowed to be off those 3-4 days it takes to close. I personally hated it lol
Just left public in NYC after 2 years right before senior promotion for a role in private paying about $100k total comp and much better benefits, feel like your offer is reasonable, I’d gather more information on the benefits at your new job and compare them to EY’s
My recruiter told me 105k is basically the max for 3 years of experience, which was shocking to me.
I decided to just stay in public since I had good experience so far - offer in the 110-120 for 3 yoe loll, will try industry at manager maybe!
I was in SF last year recruiter told me 3 years experience for big 4 is worth about 120k
SF is a whole different animal in terms of salary.
Definitely not unheard of and recruiters want their cut
I was at over 100k in public as an S1, not a jd and in tax, non specialty, would keep looking if you aren’t really eager to take it.
Edit: forgot to mention in nyc as well.
100k is very much heard of. My friends with 2 years experience got that. Don't listen to the recruiters.
Yes to emphasize this is NYC!
100k is unheard of; i would say more in the range of 120k
Ask for more
I did, just wanted to see if I’m being crazy or just getting caught up with recruiter nonsense haha
Rising Star
I’ve heard that seniors leaving big 4 should get AT LEAST 100K - and this in the Midwest not NYC - so they’re trying to make it sound like a better deal than it actually is. You also have to consider the growth factor. Are you ok leaving for slightly higher pay and then not having steady promotions? Or do you want to stay and get guaranteed promotions and raises every year?
You could switch to FDD in NYC right now with your experience and get 110, so if nothing else it’s worth trying to counter if you’re really interested in the position
91k as senior 1 at EY? Are you FDD?
I was 90k as S1 in GCR tax NYC
All in experience is 2 years ? I think $100k for that sounds like a reasonable offer. But seems like you’ll make that at EY next year anyways. So depends if you want out at EY or will tough it out a year.
