Start looking for another job. A pip is a gift of knowing the agency wants to get rid of you.
💯
Of course they want you to succeed. Just not there.
Guaranteed they're already looking for your replacement.
Legally they can’t say they don’t want you to succeed. Try to find another job. This one ain’t it.
It wouldn't hurt to look to hedge your bets but you the easier thing to do (in this job market) is make the improvements they want. Not only that, but be sure you point these improvements out to your superior. Instigate weekly progress sessions and throw in a few random ones as well so that she/he knows you're invested in improving.
This is the way
A PIP is just a way for the company to cover their ass legally before cutting the cord. It says, “we gave the employee every chance, including a warning, to get right.”
What it means to you is keep your nose clean for as long as it takes to find your next gig.
Agree with everything said. PIPs are just a legal way for companies to shift the blame on you, and minimize employment lawsuits against them. Don’t sign it. Don’t talk to HR. Hire an employment lawyer and keep records of everything. You’re on your way out. Or start looking for a new job. PIPs are never good news.

I've never heard of anyone coming back from a PIP
If this were an objective industry, you can come back. But in a subjective one, what you're actually asking is for a person to radically change their perception based on near nothing. No one can spot a good idea from a person they don't believe in. It sucks, been there, sorry, but get out, you don't even realize how toxic your current state is. You can't exist in a place that feels this way about you.
I believe there is a PIP bowl for this question. Maybe that has changed though.
Short answer: apparently some success stories, but I’m very skeptical of that, personally. It’s really just a legal write up so the company can protect themselves from a wrongful termination lawsuit.
I survived because the manager quit within 3 weeks of doing it. Also, they didn’t put me on a formal PIP. Guessing they were too lazy and were giving me a heads up to just find a new job. I was technically kinda screwing up and I fixed it by changing my lifestyle. That, combined with them leaving, saved me.
I’ve seen the most amazing folks come out of PIPS hugely successfully, using them as a true motivator. 🫶 (and others not so much, but always great when they do work)
