Same thing happened to me there. After the interview the interviewer even walked me out and mentioned that he thought I would be a great addition to the team. Never heard from them ever again.
Damn it’s only been a week and you’ve followed up twice? What happened when you followed up? Did you not get any response ?
I mean... they responded to you and told you they would follow up. It’s only been a week. I don’t really know about EY, and while it does seem like a little while to keep someone waiting for a response to schedule the 2nd round interviews, it’s not that long in the grand scheme of things. I definitely wouldn’t call back again. Give it a week (like a full 7 days) and if you don’t hear, call back next week. But again I don’t really know how EY does their hiring process.
Steer clear of EY. proceed with caution. Nothing is every as great as it may seem. Good luck. ( I recently left ey due to the collusion in the federal practice and lack of ethics)
Partner 1- seriously?! That’s just ridiculous. Nothing quite like professional ghosting, am I right?
If a firms wants you they will contact you. I would just move on and just apply to other firms after sending 1 update request and be willing to walk away.
I think this is common place amongst all the big 4, i interviewed at KPMG and followed up twice (once a week) until they responded and asked for more background information at which point i accepted another offer...when i went to EY i interviewed on the phone, had an office visit about 3 weeks later due to holiday and had an offer the day of my office visit
Took me a month to hear back. Hang in there!
@Partner 1, Wow really? That’s crazy. They didn’t even send a rejection email? I don’t mind if they changed their minds, but I’d like an update.
OP - it would be nice to get some sort of response either positive or negative. I’m sorry you’re out on the ledge just waiting
Classic EY
They said the contact would message soon, so I wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing anything. I haven’t received a response yet. Is it normal for scheduling to take awhile?
I waited for like 5 weeks but that’s campus recruiting, I’ll personal give it another week
@Audit Senior 1 Ok that makes sense. She had responded very quickly before this, so that’s why I followed up twice. I’ll wait a week before I respond again. I just wasn’t sure how long they usually take. Thanks for the advice.
What office?
@Senior Consultant 1, I’ll do that. I’m not desperate for this job anyways, I just thought my email wasn’t working or something because it seemed so odd that they weren’t responding. I’ll just go ahead and continue applying elsewhere.
@EY4, I didn’t know it was commonplace. Ok it makes more sense now thanks. Did EY take 3 weeks to contact you about the office visit? Or were they quick in getting back to you, but just scheduled it for 3 weeks later?
I was in contact with them about a week after my phone interview and they said they’ll be scheduling the office visit just after the holiday...part of the delay is getting a time when partners are available to do the interviews, i should clarify my earlier post, i had my office visit and the partner had to be out of the office last minute, so i had a phone interview with him a few days after the office visit and i had an offer a few hours after the phone call
Forgot that until i just mentioned scheduling Time for the partners for the interview, apologies for the confusion ha
One of the partners the day of the interview canceled. I got to wait 30 minutes doing nothing. The best part was the interview was a video conference. They had me come back the next week... to do a video conference interview
