Dude - follow the advice of your company’s lawyers not internet randos
We have been warned that it may impact visa approvals if you are already there or planned to be there
Australian visa processing times are very unpredictable. Having done the offshore partner visa process, I’d wait to book until you have the visa grant. There’s a grace period after visa grant to actually make the move. I moved 6 months after grant because my visa was granted much faster than I was expecting.
You shouldn’t have any issues getting a decent seat as long as you avoid moving during the school holidays (for every state). The next set is at the end of June, followed by the end of September. If you are moving before the end of the year, as long as you fly in during early December, you should miss peak summer full flights and high prices.
I often book my parents’ flights 1-2 months out for non-peak travel periods, and they have no issues getting their preferred aisle seats or upgrades with miles.
But follow your migration lawyer’s advice. Australian visa processes are straightforward as long as you follow the rules.
Yes - you can book now
I don’t understand this question. Allowed by who? Have you never booked flight tickets ?
Huh?
I get if you are already there (like traveled on a visit visa while the work one is processing) but can't see why just planning to be there would be an issue
You can… But I would buy insurance
