Best idea is to make an appointment with a shopper at nordstroms and give them some ideas of colors you look good in, fabric that works on you, etc and then let them assemble a fitting room for you to show up to. Best advice is to wear something that is tailored to you. Have something that shows a hint of personality - a piece of jewelry, shoes, a pop of color, etc. For an interview, stick with solid colors.
Good luck!
In your price range, I would go to Nordstrom and get a stylist and have them pull some work outfits for your so you can learn which brands you like and fit your body. Then you can just buy them online.
I tend to go for dresses - easier to style. Some of my favorites in that price range or close to it are Hugo Boss, Tory Burch, Ted Baker, Milly. That said, HB is the only one that has consistent line of work dresses. The other three maybe have 1-2 each season. LK Bennett is all online and shipped from UK - more on the feminine side. St John can be good but runs big and tends to look old, so pay attention to styling. Carolina Herrera, Oscar de la Renta and Michael Kors are pricier but they go on sale all time, so I would check them out. I usually get them on Gilt.
A couple I like but haven’t tried yet so can’t speak to quality - the fold London, me+em.
Aquzzura and Manolo 80 cm heels are the comfiest for me and look fabulous, but it’s totally dependent on your foot shape.
One thing I forgot to say is that I really like getting the clothes secondhand, primarily from Poshmark but also sometimes from theRealReal or on vintage sites.
Likewise
Why not just the latest Banana Republic or Ann Taylor? They are usually my first places to look.
For brands and classic style I try MM Lafleur, Club Monaco, DVF, sometimes Hugo Boss.
I am also interested in what other women shop so following!
I would add Veronica Beard to this list.
I like Me and Em.
Nina McClemore. Period.
I like Max Mara and Ralph Lauren. I think you can get a good deal during summer sale that would fit your budget. As others said, a work dress is probably the best option.
Mango and Zara are great
Thanks all. Great suggestions! Have gotten a few new great outfits thanks to you all
