Depends on your budget- Lakewood or Preston Hollow, some parts of Lake Highlands area. You need to be really specific about your needs when moving to Dallas. If your budget isn’t high don’t even think about certain parts of Dallas. Next best is going to be Plano maybe Addison
My wife and I are in our early 30s, no kids. We rent a condo near Knox and enjoy being close to the Katy Trail for walks. With that being said, here are some neighborhoods we enjoy spending time in and would consider living if and when we have kids.
-Knox/Henderson
-Lake Highlands
-Lakewood
-Lakewood Heights (Tietze Park off Skillman is lovely)
-Lower Greenville (wife works in a neighborhood school here)
-M Streets
-Park Cities (Highland Park and University Park)
If a shorter commute is desirable for you, consider living west of highway 75 to avoid the traffic of this major thoroughfare. Hopefully this helps narrow your search just a bit!
Prestonwood — north of I-635 and south of Plano. Between Preston and Hillcrest. We have the Richardson school district, which is exemplary. It’s a peaceful and safe neighborhood with its own on-site Dallas police officer 24-7.
I would start with Addison. If you want to widen your outreach I would look at colleyville, Southlake and coppell. If you need help with a realtor I can send referrals.
Happy hunting!
