It depends on track. There are basically four client facing tracks - all of which potentially end in a single partnership model (but not all of which equally lead to partner nor equally at the same timeline).
1) generalist/integrative Partner
2) expert partner (just called Partner)
3) master expert/solutions partner
4) client delivery partner
1 and 2 are more or less equivalent alongside comp at the bands (specialist = associate) though on average 2 can take longer and has more experienced hires and direct elects. 2 was the vast majority of Digital. Both are ostensibly now “grow or go” but realistically up or out with more emphasis on up or outing within 1.
3 is a much longer path and very few even make it all the way, but is “easier” from a WLB and is truly grow or go. Bands and comp though remain more or leS the same as (1) and (2) but the bonus earnings are pegged to a longer earnings period. YoY in good years you make less and bad years you make more vs equivalent.
4 is a new path. Comp is significantly different with what I believe is a much higher base and much lower bonus. Not sure how it works but expectation is on delivery not growth (personal or commercial). I could be talking out of my ass but I heard it’s a much more desired path for data scientists and data engineers who don’t want to be fully client facing.
