What are your best questions when interviewing for a new job?

What’s the most case rounds you have seen a firm do? Spoke with a boutique strategy consulting firm and they want to do 3 in-person case rounds

I work in insurance. I was working for an Allstate agent and was fired the day after my grandmothers funeral for being “unenthusiastic in our morning meeting”. Now I’m having anxiety searching for a job. I don’t think I want to sell anymore yet every single recruiter I interview with says I should, that I have a “salesperson mentality”. I’m burnt out. Has anyone else felt this way? How did handle it? Is there a different career path I can take or am I destined to sell insurance forever?

Do Accenture still do case interview for SM level ?

I applied for a role a few days ago and found the relevant hiring manager today via LinkedIn. Should I send a follow up mail/introduce myself to this person. Would it leave a good impression or come across as desperate?

Btw, the person is in a “Talent Acquisition” position at the company.

knows what the job entails exactly. I keep hearing about people "fooled" into taking a job in risk advisory thinking it'll really be advisory while they only end up doing IT and Audit support (which I do not want to do).

One of my friend got interviewed in Deloitte and she was asked to rethink her salary ask in the HR round. She reduced it to 1L less than initial ask. Now the status is in benchmarking approval. What does that mean ? Will they release the offer letter ?

We re-negotiate at 6 Sept (30% hike). Now they will release offer letter or not ?

Hello there. I have been interviewing with Okta and got through all 5 rounds of interviews. They say they want to offer me the job but there is a global freeze for all marketing roles at the company. They want to offer me a contractor role instead. Does anyone here know if that is the case? I haven't heard anything as they seem be on wellness week. Thanks for any guidance :)

I was passed over for partner but will make of counsel at a V50 firm. I’ve put in the work to make partner, but the firm is making very few this year (less than 10). Am I wrong to feel disrespected?

I’m studying for the Texas bar using Barbri. I am from a good school in the state (T50) and performed well there, but I am terrified that I am going to fail the bar. Any tips, tricks, advice on how you made it through? Is Barbri enough?

Lateraling attorney here, lucky enough to have two offers (both in writing), would be happy with either firm, but still need to decide between the two. I really dislike my current firm (hence the lateral move), and want to give notice ASAP, bad idea to give notice even though I haven't gone through conflicts/picked my next firm?

I accepted a job offer in April to start a few months from now, post clerkship. All conflicts/background check went smoothly etc. Since accepting my offer, the firm has increased their 1st year pay across the board to be higher than my offer was (which was, at the time, what 2nd yeas got). I’m at a mid size transactional firm. I’m a total night owl and my partners have OK’d me starting the workday at around 11am because I regularly work until midnight or later. I get so much more done after dark! I still get some side eye from other associates, but 🤷🏽‍♀️

I have a new client who, I think, got bad legal advice from someone else she consulted with. From the information I have, there is no way she gets to the numbers I do. I work in a pretty small legal community. How do I address this delicately? My client is hung up on “but that’s not that X said” even though I’ve explained it multiple times and way.
