What do you bring to an in-person callback (lateral)? Should I be bringing copies of my resume/deal sheet?

Depends on the firm. You risk being viewed as setting boundaries that conflict with firm culture.

As an update - def bring. Was helpful today for interviewers who did not have the material and said give me a sec to print.

They should have the resume and information you submitted

Bring your A-game.

Bring nothing, dress appropriately for the firm/office, research who you will be speaking with, anticipate questions and have some questions prepared to ask them.

Bring copies of your resume. It’ll show you’re prepared and will possibly leave a good impression. People don’t always have a printout handy.

Not bringing copies of your resume can only hurt you. Hopefully you just have them on you and never have to pull them out.

I am getting a little impatient with a recruiter who feels like she has been ghosting me. I need to make another decision with a company by tomorrow but have not heard back from this other company since I’ve interviewed last Monday. I updated her on my timeline and she hasn’t emailed me back. I have her number from when she initially called me. Would it be bad to just give her a call?

Hi Fishes,

Could someone help answer this.
I have a offer from CTS and I'm considering joining here but I've heard a lot of bad remarks regarding bench policy.

Now I'm worried whether i will get a project once I join here or will I get kicked out in 30 days if not.

Tech stack: Mulesoft

This is the first time I'm switching companies so I'm really worried about how life will be if I take the risk and join here.

Random partner asked a litigation-related question to a partner I frequently work with (i’m a transactional associate). My partner cc’d me and said for me to briefly look. Asked the library. They got me a great case. Sent it back. Now the random partner is asking for more cases in another circuit.

Big law literally saved my life. I was working for the government and being sued by creditors and in a deep, dark place. I wasn't even able to afford my Ube transfer application on my own. I understand why people rag on it but some of us would be in a really bad place if we weren't here

PSA - We are headed into a self-imposed economic slow down. Now is not the time to lateral but if you do, I would make sure you are at a recession-proof practice or firm. The top law firms will be okay (they always are) but if you are part of a larger group of associates with no work, you are likely to be axed. Latham did it in the 2008 and 2011 and it will happen again. If you are an associate or really anyone but a rainmaker, you are expendable.
