Smoke. Peat. Petrol. Not sweet.
Unique Character. I don’t want to try a new bottle and say “this feels exactly like XYZ “

I love finding something new that I like. Preferably not well known so I can share a new experience with friends. I’m not much interested in expensive whiskeys or well marketed hard to find whiskeys.
I prefer whiskeys that are a bit mellow, caramel, enjoyable to sip without ice. Not much into strong tobacco or peppery notes.
That it is spelled whisky (how Scotch Whisky is spelled).
I’ve grown to prefer softer whiskies although a little peat can be nice. I visit I Scotland a lot (father is Scottish, I live in England) so I do like whiskies from places that I have visited personally. It connects you more to the drink.

Agree. If it’s not from Scotland it is just flavoured brown
Brown liquid. Duh
Oof, where do I start? Yes the liquid but the characteristics of the liquid whenever I sip. The flavor notes and how well they pair together. There’s nothing wrong with drinking whiskey just cause it’s liquor lol. I just thought it was funny.
In Scotch I love the campfire, peaty notes. In bourbon I prefer a smooth, yet complex composition of flavors.
