Anyone US persons with Dual Citizenship who invest in the markets back home? I am wondering if it’s worth it to open an account next time I return, what are tax implications? I know we can get that global exposure through ETFs etc, but not sure that’s what I’m looking for. I also know US markets tend to do better, but does anyone else feel US innovation/ ideas tends to lag behind other countries? What are your thoughts? Am I being too extra on a Tuesday night?

I am doing a back door Roth IRA through Vanguard and while everything makes sense to me, I am unsure if an additional $6000 be invested for a non working spouse. We satisfy the criteria but two questions - 1) Is this still valid I.e., $12k can be invested for 2021? And 2) Any insight into how this is done - Vanguard doesn’t let me add more than $6k as it’s above the individual limit. I tried searching the bowl for specific answers but wasn’t successful. Saving for a home. Should I save my money in a CD or savings account?

$530k HHI, $250k cash on hand, $1.2M investments/retirement. Plan to buy $800-900k house as our first home, but thinking of the best approach given rates today. My thinking is that we (i) put $200k+ down and get a 5/1 ARM. (ii) put everything we save moving forward toward paying down the principal (after maximizing retirement accounts). Should be able to do $100k per year. (iii) If rates go down below 4.5ish % for 15 year fixed, refinance and stop aggressive payment. Thoughts on this approach?
