What does a Manager 1 in M&A tax make? I’m at $193K so curious to see where that stacks up.

Got a 30% salary bump, via an offer for Senior Consultant S&O from Deloitte. Currently underpaid at EY Advisory. I'm MBA and this year is my promotion year at EY for Manager. What to do? Get demoted and move to D? Or counter at EY? Even if EY matches my salary, and promote me to Manager, I will be an EY Manager with a Deloitte SC salary, and probably won't be able to go to D in the future. What do you think? I have built up a good relationship with my Partner and SMs at EY though.

Hey all, I’ve recently joined EY consulting from another Big 4 and have noticed there’s no discipline (at least in my team) around codes and charging time. People either charge a standard 7 hrs or some will charge time spent on internal activities to their client code.

I was told that “the last person to charge their actual hours worked was promptly booted off the project”.
Just wondering:
1) Is this a general cultural point accross all Consulting teams? Will challengin this get me in trouble?

How long does is usually take to get staffed on the first project? Joined 11/15 and still no project... Fyi, I am in the commercial side. Should I be worried? Ive contacted my RM couple times and am reaching out to my network 😢

Hi all! In which order do you recommend studying BEC chapters ? Which ones are heavily tested compared to others ? (For example in AUD A3-A4 were tested for sims and I’ve studied A1-A5-A6)

When do you think associates are usually let go in small practice groups that are currently being overwhelmed with work? Is it when it starts to slows down or when they already have a candidate to replace you? Just trying to figure out how long I have after annoying a partner 😂.

Anyone have any worst interview stories? 100% bombed one yesterday, essentially just because I wasn't well prepared enough and I was super nervous. As a law student interested in going into the field I’ve seen a lot of negative comments saying that only lawyers who couldn’t get into big law go into PA. Although I know most people try to get into big law initially, it is very competitive and many don’t stay past 2-3 years. You certainly don’t make as much going into PA as a lawyer but the pay is certainly not bad and the WLB is generally much better. Can anyone speak to how they got into PA and if you would rather be working in Big Law

Anyone leave PA to work at a firm? What’s your experience been like? Any regrets? Tips?

I love international tax (in core) and don’t mind compliance at all but it’s been nearly 100% of what I do. Any ways of balancing out with more structuring/planning?

Some background: there’s only 3 of us IT locally and with the departure of our SM, the little structuring/planning work I do see will probably dry up when they leave. Do I network with other bigger offices to pick up that kind of work?
