Never put all eggs in one basket.
Faced this weird behaviour from Optum recently. Gave interview for Data Scientist position. HR said feedback is positive. Asked for documents. It's been month now since I have shared the documents. I have no update on the offer. Today I called HR, she called me back saying the position is on hold due to recalibration in team, She has shared interview feedbacks to other teams and will get back to me in couple of days. I am clueless now. My last working day is approaching (In a month). Any Help??

Refusing to sign could be interpreted as insubordination, which could be grounds for immediate dismissal.
It's probably best to sign it and immediately put your job search in high gear.

Depends on your leverage. ALWAYS have leverage. Always have a plan B - D. It’s an opportunity for you to identify things in the future to look out for ahead of time, as well as consider the feedback. If it’s BS, don’t fight. Just use the PIP and coast while you dedicate your efforts to a new gig elsewhere. early on, these were often signals for pivot points on where to go in my career.
Get feedback DETAILS, and use that for where to CYA, as well as to determine if there’s any legit weaknesses to mitigate so you can focus on your strengths going forward.
Doesn’t the signature just acknowledge you’ve received it? Why be difficult?

The impact here depends on where you work and their policy. Refusing to sign could be anything from meaningless to resulting in termination. I’ve worked several places where if someone placed on PIP didn’t sign it, it meant that they didn’t agree to the PIP and were therefore accepting immediate termination instead of being given a chance to improve performance.
