What helps kids with dyslexia write better? I have a family who has a daughter with dyslexia. Her only service is Wilson 3x40. She struggles with written expression as well. I always have a hard time with helping kids with writing.

Any suggestions for getting kids to do homework? Sped Math 6th grade high need area - I cannot get these kids to turn in hw. Anyone agree with the idea of allowing class time for HW? I am at a loss

I know this isn’t a marriage therapy bowl, but my husband has a really terrible tendency of saying things like “you’re being really mean” and completely shutting down during a disagreement when i objectively am not being mean, just truthful or vocal about how i feel about something. It’s a really convenient argument for him because it enables him to either be the victim and me the villian, or forces me to concede my stance and not reach a true resolution. Any tips on dealing with the irrational?

I’ll probably be alone this Christmas and I’ve been living alone during Covid. I’ve been fine and done tons of hobbies but thinking about spending the holidays alone is getting to me. Anyone else feeling this? I feel like telling my family I don’t want to join any zoom things and just skip Christmas this year. I’m mentally exhausted.

Me and my partner are not sure whether we want to have kids . Sometimes we want to and the next day we are completely against the idea . The reason we want to have kids is that we want to grow our inner circle , have more people in this world who we can call our family. And we don’t want to have kids is that it will put extra pressure on us , less freedom for next 10-15 years. Wanted to understand why people have kids or don’t have kids . Has anyone started a new job while expecting a child? I'm thinking about it but could use some input from people with experience.

I'm new to this post and thank those that are willing to share. My son and husband are dyslexic but it took many years of private tutoring and then Dr. Bruno's "OG" assessment and program that allowed our son to move forward. I am now a supportive teacher working with HS students that have struggled throughout their education with a reading deficit and a district unwilling to really provide intensive interventions that addressed dyslexia. I just completed my EdD and am focusing on dyslexia!

What do like the most about working with dyslexia students?
