Then let your manager know you’re not interested in moving up. Perfectly normal. Although I will add, promotions don’t always equal more work; rather, the nature of your work changes.
Not bad advice at all. For example, I know ACDs that don’t want to move up because it means they have to manage people rather than be heads down in the work. So you become a specialist in your craft (be it analytics, strategy, account, whatever) rather than move up into management.
In fact, I’d rather people were more honest rather than get to a leadership position where they have to manage people but default to henpecking the work to death rather than manage. I’ve been in the industry nearly 17 years and I’ve seen a thing or two.
Of course, don’t say that you lack ambition. This isn’t about that at all. It’s that I’m presuming the individual wants to specialize in their craft. And there is nothing mediocre at all about that. My original point of understanding all the role entails before passing still stands.
Agreed. It’s about way more than just money.
NOTHING wrong with this.

Idk move to Canada or something.
Kidding. Just communicate that you love your role. They might even respect that and elevate your comp a touch.
Tell them why.
You can still ask for a salary bump.
By being in the role longer, you have increased your expertise.
You don't (or should not) have to be promoted for more money. Every team and every manager needs a solid individual contributor.
