What is the highest number of rounds of interviews you've gone through for a single job? The most I've done is 4 plus a take home assessment, and I STILL didn't get the job. A friend of mine said she had to go through 5 rounds for a job she also didn't get. What on earth are these companies looking for that they can't determine within 3 or fewer interviews?

Three job interviews with a company, last one creating a marketing plan and presenting to marketing VP. I received good feedback from him. Three days later recruiter wants to give me a call and “give an update”. Schedules it after 2 days. This morning cancels last minute as they are having “internal discussions”. I’m really annoyed and tired. Thoughts?

Do you actually take the time to reject people after initial interviews? Or do you wait for the candidate to reach back out to you? I’ve noticed a lot of agencies don’t seem to follow up

Resume question I've had three positions over my career one of which lasted 3 months and that I got fired from, the job search took an additional 2 months. Is it worth it to leave the 3 month stint off my resume? It might be easier to explain getting fired then a 5-month gap I was thinking

I am interested in pivoting from an agency into a traditional business consultancy role. I have start-up tech experience and four years of Strategy experience for media clients. Are there any projects folks in consulting would recommend I take on to add to build on to a resume? From the outside looking in, it seems like there is an overlap in the core competencies of a strong strategist at an agency and a consultant.

Recently some leadership positions have become available and I feel as if my leader has discouraged me from applying. His take is that I should take certain steps before applying, however I have the experience from my previous employment in this leadership role. Would I be overstepping to apply anyways ?

I was a contractor for a big company and they just let me know that my last day is December 30th. I got this position thanks to a recruiting company that has been great and gives me benefits.
Should I:
- Continue working with the recruiting company, hoping that they will find another position for me? (as they told me they will, and when they applied me I started working with my current company within 2 weeks)
- Work with the recruiter + apply for jobs on my own?
