What is the right time (after xx years / months on the job) for a post-MBA IB Associate to leave banking if you don’t look at it as a long-term career but want to get the stamp / skills etc.?

What is the eligibility or time period needed to move from 6B to 7A in IBM? I have 4.7 years of experience and joined IBM recently in JL 6B.

I work in field sales as an IC. My aspirational career path is to end up in people leadership. Recently, an Inside management position opened up that’s been brought to my attention by the hiring director. Question is, is going back Inside the right move to get into started in leadership? Or should I continue down the field path and wait until those field management slots open up?
