How does the partnership comp work at EY? Whats the buy in? Do they give interest free loan for buy? Is it only profit sharing or PS + salary. Also how to negotiate when offered partnership?
Just accepted an offer from a former client at an exciting company - Joining the corporate strategy team after 5 years in consulting post mba. I doubled my comp in cash before equity - which is flattering / exciting - but also a lot of pressure … a bit worried they expect me to come in and be a wizard. Any tips / advice?
Anyone else confused by this comp call? I was promoted to Senior back in Oct., what does this mean for my comp? As I understand it, we are not having any raises
Was invited to apply for a lateral in another group at my company - transactional (I’m in lit now). I have a lot of experience in what I do now and am getting good development opportunities within my group. However, I’ve been passed over for a deserved promotion 3 times and am doing work two salary bands above where I am now. I enjoy the transactional work even though I have less experience in it, and it would be a great resume builder. I am not great with risk taking/change. Wwyd?
Received offer for product management from prestigious non profit tech company; but the pay is quite low. I’m pivoting from consulting and want to break into PM but is it worth it for the low salary?
Where do you work and whats was your bonus %?
what's the comp level at A&M and AlixPartners for restructuring in London? (at new Senior associate level at A&M and equivalent in Alix) Heard that A&M bonus is based on billing, but how much do people usually get? And how much flexibility do you guys get to work on different type of projects? (for example will you be able to work across creditor advisory or operational restructuring etc ) (considering leaving pwc for more money)
Real talk: what's a reasonable amount to spend on an engagement ring with a salary of 90k?
Just told my fairly new bf how much I make and he makes 3 times of how much I’m making right now. I had a big career setback because of covid and my salary hasn’t increased for a while. He cares about money and being rich so much I feel like he might dump me at some point. I won’t be upset if he does because that’s on him, but I feel so insecure about how ridiculously poorly I’m doing in life:(. Just wanted to let it out
Is there anybody that thinks their salary is particularly greater than, or at least inspiring to, the majority on here that you’re willing to provide numbers and your career path to achieve it? Whether you’re a partner, got in a pre-IPO company, C-suite, etc. I think it’d be interesting to see numbers, COL, and career path of the top earners, because I think there is quite a bit of misconception that all top earners have IB experience lol
What is a realistic salary and bonus expectation for a VP within the restructuring practice at alixpartners?
A recruiter shared a salary band of 110-120 during an initial phone screen and I said it’s within expectation but didn’t commit to a number. However, if I get an offer, is it possible to negotiate after hearing the responsibilities of the position? I’d ideally like 125-135, but haven’t negotiated before. Appreciate any tips!
I got a 2nd job offer after formally accepting another (both start in 2.5 weeks). Job Offer 2 salary is a few grand more than Offer 1(already acceted) AND pays 100% of health/dental/vision premiums, which will save me another few thousand a year. Both jobs are in a city notorious for it's high cost-of-living (my partners job is moving us from the midwest to SF this summer), so several thousand dollars difference *WILL* be noticeable. Is it too late to use Offer 2 to negotiate Offer 1?
Have anyone done contracting negotiations before? I've interviewed for co A & B and co A extended an offer today. The offer does not meet my current salary. Co B's interview structure is 3 rounds and I've finished my 2nd round today. The recruiter mentioned that since I am a contractor my current salary is incomparable as they will provide benefits, etc. Is this true? I have 2 yrs of contracting HR exp from fortunate 500 co’s & OMW to get my SHRM-CP. Appreciate your advice in advance.
Hello fishes, How is the WLB, yearly hike, promotions in NTT data, HR told me that they dont give any bonus. How is the growth for SAP?
FAANG or PE Ops. I currently am in PE Ops consulting but have an offer from Amazon. Any ideas on what would provide more job security? Trying to decide if I should make a jump to FAANG
Any MBB folks down to give me feedback/advice on my resume? Also looking for a potential referral if possible. Only if you think I have a chance!
Trying to get to new WiFi and I live in a remote location in upstate NY. Any recommendations on what I need mbps wise in order to work from home efficiently? I do not want my zoom or teams video calls to lag and I download large files daily. Thanks!
Anyone have insight into the culture at Adobe? specifically in a professional services standpoint. A good exit opp from a WLB standpoint? Seems like an awesome company.
How do people in industry get promoted so fast? I have friends at fortune 500s who get promoted once a year or even less. Even my younger cousin just graduated last year, and at 8 months got promoted to “customer success manager” whereas in Big 4 I’ll be in my late 20s by manager
Happy to wear one if I can find one. https://www.washingtonpost.com/health/2020/04/02/coronavirus-facemasks-policyreversal/
How long does CSR take to get approved? I’ve never had a card not be instantly approved and I need to book a flight 😬
The recent most billable hours post, inspired me. What is your longest billable day? Mine was 56 hours straight with no break—and the partner was more than a jerk when I was saying no more at the 30 hour point. That was two 24 hour billable days back to back on my time sheet and on the bill, a 360 hour month, and 650 aggregated for two months. And it is one reason (of so many reasons) why this job can suck so much! At least I got a good bonus...
I have always dreamt of living abroad. A few years in Europe, and then APAC. Transfer plans fell through with covid, and I’m pretty sure they will be delayed due to Delta. Turning 25 this month and feel like that dream is getting farther away. I’ve always been ambitious, but as I’m getting older I’ve realized traveling and exploring other cultures is what truly makes me happy and that’s what I want to use my career in tech to fund. I know this is a first world problem, but has anyone done this?
What agencies have flexible time off??
Laid off due to covid and starting delivering food through UberEats. Do I still qualify for unemployment? I can’t find anything on this and calling is no use
Just got hired at Accenture as a senior analyst. New to consulting and scared of bench time/getting fired. Any tips on how a new consultant with no skills/experience can avoid bench time?
Moms help me. I'm resentful that I got pregnant and now stuck dealing with the exhaustion of a newborn and recovery. My soul mate Hubby wanted kids, not me, but since it was "something he couldn't live without" I agreed since I was on the fence. He's super helpful and we have family to help out, which is more than most moms. But the exhaustion and PP depression is making me resent my decision and him. Baby is perfect, a regular healthy full term joy. I'm so blessed. But so miserable. Help.
How do some of the Big 4/ACN levels compare to job roles and titles at Amazon? I’m a manager within the Accenture Security practice with strong focus on security compliance and risk. Trying to see which Amazon non titles would be equivalent to or above my Accenture role. If someone has a career path (analyst, senior analyst, mgr, sr mgr, etc) that would be helpful.
Switching consulting agencies atm. Currently I earn way below average at 42k€/p.a + car. Next week I am negotiating with another company wanting to employ me. I am actually bringing in a customer with a fixed 2 year project @ 1000€ all-in/day rate (5 billable days/week). What salary should I aim for - and what bonuses? I would love something around the market average of 65-75k is it realistic even though I am in my mid 20s?
For those who are jumping to another Big4, or know someone who has and are interviewing with all the Big4, who is paying the best right now? I’ve referred friends to PwC, but they are getting outbid by kpmg for similar positions by like $25k a year. Anyone else seeing this?
How is your medical system deciding how to vaccinate healthcare providers, nurse and ancillary staff for Covid 19? Ours seems to be worried about optics and prioritizing is unclear to many of us who completed the attestation and willing to get vaccinated. While the rest of the country have started to vaccinate, we have yet to start vaccinations until tomorrow.
Overheard my client swearing and yelling and kicking his file drawer cabinet. Went over to see what all the raucous was about, and witnessed him trying to pry open one of the drawers (continued...)
