What is your thoughts on staying at an org for to long when your young? It’s hard to decide as it’s slow moving up in one org but hard to decide if the opportunities are better outside

I started in the tech industry right out of undergrad and stayed in one company for 4 years before going to bschool. From that perspective, I doubt I would have learnt anything substantial had I left sooner because the industry was pretty dynamic and it takes time to build deep expertise. At two years, you’d barely be scratching at the surface of things. That said, I did leave at the point where I felt was getting too specialized too soon in my career. But even today, if you asked me about my first industry, I can speak about it with a lot of nuance rather than just at a high level. That’s pretty valuable.

tldr: IMO, stay until you feel like you’re not learning anything new and/or interesting.

Great thanks! Great points!

You see, I have learned that every 2 years and then leave is not all bad. Because of certain circusmtances I’ve left jobs after a year, but each opportunity has brought me more money and different experiences.

Hi guys I am posting this again I have offer of almost same package from Accenture and IBM . Accenture offering is very slight more but that's not my key consideration. Which company is better in terms of job security, work life balance. That's the top most factor I am considering. Learning and project and latest niche technology is the other important factor after first 2 factors .

Hi Everyone, I’m looking for advice. Right now I’m currently facing a hard decision. I’ve been at my work for 5 months as an HR assistant and have been given the opportunity to take on the Executive Assistant role. I’m in my early 20’s and still unsure what career path I want to take. I know I want to keep moving up and doing more but again, not sure where I want to be. I’d appreciate your thoughts and advice from your experiences along with pros/cons on either position. Anything would help!

Any advice on shifting from association law to commercial real estate in FL?

I've been applying to jobs for months but every position wants at least 2yrs of experience in real estate transactions, usually way more. I'm at 1yr+ doing HOA/condo work but have had no opportunity to do real estate transactions like I expected. Seems like the only way to get the experience is to have nailed a big law gig right out of school and get put into that practice.

40th floor, faces north, and overlooks Millennium Park, Willis Tower, and is across the street from Grant Park. Next to Lollapalooza in the summer and food, arts, and music festivals throughout the year. Trader Joe’s is a 5 minute walk, and the nearest Train/Subway stations are just 10 min by walking.

I recently took a job with a top tier investment manager, which is a step up in title and responsibilities. I went through the typical “notice” conversations with my current employer. My boss, who was a significant supporter and mentor of me during my time at my current firm, told me that he doesn’t think my new firm is “long term” for me. Anyone ever get something like this before? It threw me off because I was hoping for his support, understanding that it’s tough for him temporarily
