Flexibility for WFH
Offices in almost all major cities = easy to switch if necessary
Larger deals scale = more solid FS, less messy
Offshore assistance = save time on manual tasks
Possibility to try out different ìndustries and don't have to be pigeonhole into a specific one
Brand name
Good bonus (of course can't compare to A&M model but pretty content with my total comp, made $200k all in last year as M1)
Manager at a national firm and for me its just the flexibility I've earned through a good reputation. I know I could make more money elsewhere but I work 45 hours a week, mainly from home, and total comp is around 160.
I would say both but primarily speaking on when I do the work or from where. Many days I just go run a few errands at odd times when it’s not busy out
Location and relationships. Have a great team that I truly love working with. Also A&M doesn’t have an office near me
Big 4 resources and better WLB. No cutthroat culture.
Pay at big 4 has caught up some. My buddies who are Director / SM at big 4 are making around $220-260 TC and this is equivalent to manager level at A&M. Big 4 will still try to fuck you though early in your career so you really need to just fight back and negotiate salaries or jump firms every few years to maximize your pay.

Comp has been significantly improved and I don’t want to throw my network / partnership case out the window. A&M comp is great, but don’t love the local team I would be joining if I hopped there.

I mean does BRG even pay well?

A&M still has to be by far the best FDD environment out there

Don’t want to do FDD/accounting forever and big4 looks better on MBA apps
Looks better for exit opportunities.
WLB is better than A&M and I don’t have to stress as much about billable hours. If I do a good job on my projects I know I’ll get an ok bonus and raise.
India operations team to send the shit work to. Better staffed engagements most of the time. As a Director you can delegate down most of the work. At A&M you still will be more involved.
