Jpmc: 50% on current fixed + jpmc benefits Walmrat: 50% on current fixed + yearly bonus + stocks.
Please help me choose which will be better, mainly looking for brand value, work life balance and yearly hikes.

McKinsey & Company Has any industry experienced candidates pivot to MBB Engagement Manager before? My roommate works at FAANG as Senior Analyst (Ops, 6+ YOE) and was approached by McKinsey & Company recruiter for an EM role. He hasn’t done consulting before. Would this be too much of a risk? His goal is to pivot to PE S&O eventually.

Strategy is coming up with business ideas, management is like glorified PMO.
I view it a bit differently from previous responders. I’d consider strat work to be a subset of management consulting - compared to, say, ops or m&a work, which also fit within that universe. Strategy, ops, m&a, org, talent - these things are separate specializations, but are also so interconnected that very few people only operate exclusively in 1. So “mngmt consulting” is an umbrella term that serves as a catchall for all of the above. Hope that helps

There’s lot of overlap.

Management consulting is largely tactical grunt work. Sometimes there is solution design type recommendations but a lot of the high-level business recommendations are strategy consulting.
Strategy consulting falls under management consulting. It's just one piece of many offerings that fall under the umbrella.
