I feel like using star method in interviews in overrated. I stopped using STAR and finally started to get offers. It’s better to be genuine and let the conversation flow than to stick to a structure. Thoughts? Maybe I just got lucky.
What’s it like working for GT? The people and practice seemed pleasant during the interviews but I keep seeing such negative reviews online

Your thoughts? My anxiety has been jumping out of my skin as the call was originally supposed to be sometime today but he had to push it.

I've an interview scheduled for this week with EY for the role of Consultant - Performance Improvement. For first round I was asked to submit a case study solution. If 2+ people submit a referral on your behalf at their company for a position you recently applied for, does it make you stand out even more/increase your chances of getting an interview vs. just 1?
Who else is too burned out to even apply to other jobs? And for those of you who managed to apply and interview successfully while working - how did you do it? Any concrete, tactical advise would be very much appreciated.

Joining competitor, boss was shocked and didn't expect to lose me to competitor. I stated reasons as step-up opportunity, project focus, pay but boss is not convinced. Competitor has similar branding, more niche focus. Getting promoted to one level up is the key reason for me. Am I missing any thought process?

Boomers are often considered selfish, right? Consider the following: People over the age of 75 comprise 54% of COVID deaths. At that age, the actuarial tables aren’t exactly favorable to begin with. By contrast, people under the age of 50 comprise 7% of COVID deaths. Throwing the world into a state of absolute chaos (thereby sticking younger generations with the long-term consequences) is next level.
I just wanted to offer a tip for anyone looking to negotiate salary. My old mentor suggested this book to me and it legitimately helped. It’s a book called “How to make 1000 dollars a minute"

Parents are deciding between moving to WVirginia vs Virginia for retirement to be closer to us based in fairfax, va(ideally be at 1 hour driving distance). They currently in the mid west but WVirginia appeals to them because of low taxes, low cost of living. We are also poc so appreciate some diversity. What are some areas you would recommend both in Va and WV? What else should they consider prior to house hunting? Dad likes to garden/farm as well so looking for homes with large backyards. Tia!
