People often forget things like network and retirement plan vesting when just comparing a straight salary jump percentage. Plus the annoyances of learning new systems/admin stuff. Would need to be 40%+ for me to jump
Pro
I would say depends on your level and depends are your career aspirations. 20-40% if you want to go for the quick bump and change of scenery. However if you’re higher up and have people who would both vouch for you and would help get you to partner (plus if that’s your aspiration) then the question becomes much more complicated.

How do you get delayed if ur direct admit partner? Lool you can only get delayed if you’re trying to get promoted
I was on the low end of my band, moved to another big4 for a 60% bump. Results like this aren’t guaranteed.
Whoaaa that's pretty amazing. I know that when you're an amazing candidate, you're more apt to get huge increases like this, so this must speak to the quality of your work & who you are as a person.

I’m curious myself. I’m an S1 in MCOL making 97k (2.5 years of total experience).
I’m thinking of jumping firms soon and was hoping for a decent increase.
Are signing bonuses common at B4 firms?
Pro
25% or more
I like 30% as a rule of thumb, I jumped from B4 myself for 40%

Go for %30 to %60. Don't settle for less than 30 unless they offer incredible bonuses and benefits to compensate.
I would say 15%-25%. It would depend on your goals and your potential growth in your new role. Returning to your older job might be challenging if you quit for a higher salary in another company.
MD 1: are you talking about jumping between same practices? Like if I’m in core tax and want to do core tax at EY I should ask for 30% raise? That seems high for me. If I’m making 95k as S1 do you think they will offer $123.5k? That feels close to a manager salary to me.
Question for kind strangers: Is leaving for a 15% raise and a promo to senior worth it in your experience? Should I try to leverage that offer?
