Real convo I’ve had with my Senior. “Why are you still here?” “I’m waiting for you, in case something else comes up.” “Well stop it! I’ve been waiting on you to leave!” “What? Really? So we’re both staying late because the other is staying late?” “Goddamn it. Let’s go home."
Charge every second that you are there, I guarantee that this stupid practice would stop.
Pwc2, so if you tell me that I can't go home but don't have any work for me, I shouldn't charge time?
No one can make me do anything.
There’s always work to do but I should be able to go home and either stop working or work remotely when I’ve made good progress and don’t feel productive in the office anymore
Omg, seriously this is the worst! This is exactly why I preemptively tell my teams “idgaf how long you work, how early you come in, how late you leave, etc. As long as you mind the budget, bring concerns to me ASAP, get your work done on time, and do not inconvenience the client with your schedule, I couldn’t possibly care any less what times you choose to work.
We do charge all the time then get bitched at cause we’re over budget. Hasn’t stopped
Bad management. I haven’t had to do that.
0%. Only stay if you need to help out or have your own work to do
I have a staff who must just not believe me that I don’t care when she leaves because she just constantly asks me if it’s okay. I could not care less if the work gets done. I’d like to think I’m being the Senior I wish I had as an A1.
I do appreciate people checking in before they leave. Not every day but when you know you sent me work to review earlier that day it’s a nice courtesy. I work with staff who assume their only job is to get the work book as far as they can and that I will go in and fix their shit up after them so it can go to the senior manager or manager.
You only charge time if you are working
Ey2 correct. But why would I ever tell you to stay if you didn’t have work to do???
I’m having the hardest time adjusting because this is how all of my teams used to operate ^
