Assistants aren’t paid enough period
Registered, Dental, Assistants, Should unionized just like nurses for better pay .
No assistant gets paid enough... just part of the job...
I currently make $25 an hour, but I also have almost a decade of experience and I mostly work in oral surgery. I worked at my last office for almost 6 years and I left at $18 an hour so it truly just depends on where you’re at and if your boss appreciates you. It’s really hard to find a place that will pay you what you’re worth but they are out there!
Hello! I’m also an EFDA, 7 years experience working with both gen. dentistry and implants. I’m also a certified phlebotomist so I’m able to draw blood when needed for certain surgeries or procedures. I literally know how to work the lab, front desk( still learning) and both the General side and prosthesis side of my job. I’m the lead DA as well (4 years). I want to ask my boss for a raise but he’s not exactly that easy to talk to. . I love my job and what I do but it’s simply underpaid.
Tell the boss u need a raise soon…!
You can easily google it. But curious, what is your pay? I can tell if you it compared to my state. I’m in a HCOL area on the East Coast. So really depends on demograph too.
I’m in Houston. $35 hr. Not typical though. We have NO BENEFITS and this is what I requested so I can go tho the Dr when I need to. I’d say $20-27 in the Houston area. Also I’ve been doing this for 24 years.
I’m outside of chicago and I only temp. My rate is $28 an Hr. I have a decade of experience
As stated by others, it truly depends on who you work for. I've been at this for 10 years and I am a go getter, do everything, bend over backwards to make my doctor happy kind of DA. We will always be under paid and under appreciated. At the end of the day, is it worth it if you love what you do?
