What region of the world do you think is best for innovation and being a potential source of good investments? I would think it would be Silicon Valley but that seems too simple

Makes sense

I think the answer is still resoundingly US (and specifically SF) #1 followed by EU, China, then Israel, in that order.

Within the US, after SF comes NYC+Boston followed by LA, SEA, SD, and maybe Texas

This all being said, there are still probably some interesting plays on a global level, especially with Singapore investing in local venture capital plays across Southeast Asia

Where in Texas?

Hands down San Francisco. On the up-and-coming front I’d add Waterloo in Canada, the energy there is unlike any other place

I have an interview with Korn Ferry for an associate principal role and am curious about others’ experiences have been with work-life balance here. Also, I have an idea of what I should be compensated in this type of role, but any insights on how they pay compared to others would be helpful. Are you traveling during the pandemic or have client interactions been virtual? Lastly, if you are a consultant here, are you on billable hours? My current consulting role is not - so this would be new.

Got an offer from a startup for 19.5LPA.
Its base is 15L, and I'll be getting 124800 in-hand.

I have 3.5 yoe in typescript/react/NEXTjs fullstack. Out of which only 10 months are on a full time role, rest of time was freelancing.
I am also an open source contributor for some NEXTjs related tooling.

Is this a good offer?

Any fish 🐠 here work for a vc or firm that invests in early stage companies through seed funding, or series a etc... willing to chat with me and provide guidance on an opportunity I am exploring with a vc. I connected with a vc that has $1b under management and I am exploring a principal / venture partner level role with them. First time going through this process with a vc and would love some advice. 20 yoe, senior leader with FAANG. Thanks.

VC community - a recruiter (from an external agency) reached out to me in regards to a strategy position in the VC firm’s local office but I feel tremendously under-qualified as someone with less than a year of consulting experience. I am currently a year from finishing my PhD and was looking at VC's as a career path because I like to do meta-analysis of different climate change techs. I networked with VCs and one of them was receptive but didn't have the budget currently for a full time hire. They said they'd be interested in working with me to do a research paper over the coming semester, and was wondering if I could leverage this into a full time offer?

Is a white paper with a VC going to be attractive on my CV?

Looking to do a career pivot into VC. Have 12+ years of B2B tech marketing experience with IBM, Google, Deloitte and a number of startups. Have skills in messaging, product launches, and sales and enjoy diving deep on my personal investments (all public companies beyond a few RSUs). Have an MBA in the back pocket too. Thoughts are to join as a marketing expert and learn unique VC investment philosophy. Any advice on how to break into the VC world? Just started networking/planning.
