I think teachers come to mind
Every role someone has ever had feels underpaid at times! 😂 But seriously, regarding teachers, it’s more about supply and demand. In most cities, teachers already earn comparable salaries to mechanical or civil engineers. Plus, there’s significant earning potential beyond traditional teaching—an excellent Udemy instructor can easily surpass $300k by scaling their classes online. Similarly, engineers or analysts might earn just $40-60k at small companies but can jump to $200-300k in banking or even $400k+ at big tech firms. However, following passion often means less pay, like PhD-level video game designers making just $30-80k despite working intense 60+ hour weeks, simply because companies leverage people’s love for the job.

Anything public facing
Besides teachers and nurses? These are the obvious ones of course. But I think people underestimate how important janitorial staff is. And I’m sure they’re way under compensated.
