My manager quit months ago and I’ve been doing the job of 2 people since, with the intent of being promoted. I was just told that I would not be promoted this year. I am depressed, over worked, feel under appreciated, am definitely under paid, and burnt out. I really like my new manager and am close with her, so I want to I discuss my feelings with her. How do I (politely) explain that I won’t be doing the work of 2 people without proper compensation?

First week back in person. Each day I crawled home from exhaustion. Thinking it was due to the 10,000+ steps I didn’t worry. But on Friday I had a headache and noticed I had a rash on the back of my hands. I told my principal but they shrugged it off. Now today, the rash is so itchy and all day Saturday I slept. Do you think these are symptoms of COVID?

Dear public accountants, how many billable hours did you bill in FY2022? And what’s your position?
Started in public accounting (audit) in January. I’ve been told by coworkers that it’s ok to “not know everything” and “to make mistakes” when you’re starting off but at the same time, I don’t want to push the envelope. My past few engagements have been frustrating because I’m new and my past team members are too overwhelmed to teach. I have also been making mistakes. My fear is suddenly getting laid off because of a scathing performance review (which hasn’t happened yet). Any advice?
Is not being able to go on spring break with my family and not having time to downhill ski legit reason to want out of public accounting?
