Change your mindset. Nothing wrong with tier 3. This career is a marathon. Pace yourself.
Just FYI, if you're trying to climb ranks faster, "it's just a job" is the wrong mindset. "It's your personal brand" is how you effectively motivate yourself to do better and accelerate "success".
"Just a job" is why you get tier 3 every year. Not necessarily a bad things, just depends on what you're looking for.
That sounds like success from when I was there. The higher tiers aren’t worth the effort
A higher tiering does mean you’re ready for promotion. Tiering gives you higher raises and bonuses. Having your snapshots all or almost all at next level gets you promoted.
If you haven't been placed on a PIP yet, you're doing something right
Why does 3 mean not succeeding? Don’t think you know what a 3 actually means.
That sounds fine to me. If you’re performing less than that, then they might let you go. If you perform better than that, then they might start piling work on you and you’ll get burnt out.
