Depends on what zone you are but you're probably well out of freezes and can direct start beans, squash, melons, okra. Plenty of time for summer produce.

Not if you mound it. Plant a watermelon seed in a 1 ft mound. The vines will trail down and you can arrange the fruit as it starts to set.

Where are you located?

In most climates you haven't missed anything except the spring vegetables that bolt in hot weather (e.g. spinach). Even tomatoes are still possible if you buy transplants of an early variety (might be a bit late to start them from seed unless you have a very long growing season).

What part of California? Southern/northern, coastal or inland? (I'm in San Francisco and gardening here is quite different than it is in Los Angeles lol)

Beans are a pretty safe bet, as are peas. I'd also recommend zucchini; they produce a ton, and start producing quickly. They're very satisfying as a gardener!

Depending on where youa re located there are still plenty of things that you can grow. For the most part I think that tomatoes can be grown pretty much anywhere maybe not from seeds but from the plant you can get at HOme Depot.

I'm accepting an offer with a new company... Start in early Aug. Senior Manager role, though in this company that equates to Manager at most consulting farms. They did not had hunt me. I came to them for the job.

I have COVID delayed vacations planned for the last week in August and the first week in October.

Should I just cancel one of them? Or should I at least put both on the table and see what they say? They're going to hire me either way, but I wonder if it's a bad start to ask for both.

Anyone available to review my resume/guide me through this job search? I’ve been applying places for the past 6 months and am not getting responses. Unemployment has run out and I’m starting to crumble under the pressure of bills. My experience the past 6yrs has been in smaller companies where my role was never just one thing but instead spread over multiple departments, so I’m struggling to narrow down how to convey the vast experience I do have.

What house plants are NOT toxic to cats? I swear every time I go to buy a new plant and look it up it says “toxic to pets”. I have a dumb cane which I know is toxic but didn’t realize when I bought it so now I just keep it in the laundry room away from my cat when I’m at work but that means no daytime sunlight. Would like suggestions on which plants I can buy that are safe to leave alone with my cat 😸
