MBB is known for fastest progression to Partner in 6-7 years and SIGNIFICANTLY better comp compared to Big 4. That said seeing some of my Big 4 friends make it to SMs in 7 years so MBB needs to amp up the meritocracy based promotions. Curious what would be the comp for a 1st year consulting partner in Big 4?

What are the salary levels in Big 4 consulting? From MBA stats, intro pay seems to be the same as MBB. But on FB, I’m seeing people say Manager level pay is lower than 1st year Consultant salary at MBB. Which is it?

So this might be a better place to post this and ask this question: Uncle D has announced explicitly that most people won’t get a pay raise & bonus this year except for those promoted and high performers. Amid this crisis, are companies including other big 3, MBB, FAANG, boutique consulting firms still giving high raises and issue stocks? Can you share the impact from your firm?

I’m 30, with no kids, currently paying $540/mo for a whole life insurance policy through my advisor (family friend, mind you) at NWM. No debt, investing 2k a month into other more traditional investments (e.g., 401k, ira). I care less about the death benefit but I’ve been repeatedly reminded about the guaranteed RoR associated with the cash value - does this investment vehicle make sense to continuing with? TIA!

After months of networking and trying to break into consulting, I managed to secure one interview. I was really nervous at the beginning of the interview so I started off a bit shaky and didn’t come up with the perfect structure, but did really well on the rest. Today I got the rejection email and their feedback was that I need to work on the structure. I had worked on my structure for so long and I only messed up because I was nervous. I feel so defeated with no more interviews. Wtf do I do? 😓

(First ever post) I originally I joined this app to learn from others in consulting on a variety of topics (gender perspectives, comp, tips/ recommendations). Question on H-1B and LCA. 1) If one lives in New Jersey and works in New York and LCA is already filed and confirmed for H-1B, do they need to file another LCA with home address now that they work from home due to covid? 2) Also, for state tax withholding, HR might need to update “employer work location” on HR profile. Does that require filing of H-1B amendment - maybe it is considered employer address changes? Does it require another LCA? Stick both LCA on wall?
